Natalie  was first exposed to yoga while practice martial arts in high school. While practicing Anusara yoga in college, that interest turned into a passion and a way for her to maintain mental energy throughout her time as a student. Since yoga has the ability to benefit the mind and body, her classes are relaxing and challenging for people of all physical levels. Natalie completed her teacher training program at Kaya Yoga in March 2014.  Now a high school math teacher is Davis, Natalie is excited to bring yoga to younger students through Teen Yoga classes starting this fall at Kaya Yoga.

She has completed a 200 hour training in yoga for trauma survivors and a 75 hour Anusara-inspired training. Her career as a university instructor in the arts, social justice, feminism and anti-racism has informed her yoga teaching, and in turn she aims to incorporate yogic ethics and practice in the college classroom. David Jefferson originally came to yoga in 2009 after several years as a competitive rock climber, boulderer, and trail runner. At that point, David was seeking a way to balance the intensity of training, racing, and competition climbing, while maintaining the athleticism that he valued in these other pursuits. Thus, David began practicing and volunteering at Baron Baptiste’s Cambridge, Massachusetts studio.

After moving to California in 2011, David practiced with various teachers before finding his home at Kaya Yoga. He was especially inspired by Kia’s blending of a vinyasa practice with principles of mindfulness and pranayama, in addition to reflections on the historical and spiritual underpinnings of modern hatha yoga. David further explored these aspects of his practice while studying for several months in 2013 at the Iyengar school Yogashala in Santiago, Chile. David completed his RYT-200 training at Kaya Yoga Studio in 2014.
